Bad News For Multiplayer Gamers

2 Feb, 2021 @ 3:05pm - Coe⁧⁧✔️[Quality Control]

About two weeks ago, Valve decided it'd be a great idea to officially integrate Denuvo's highly experimental, unstable, controversial "anti-cheat" solution into the Steamworks:

https://techraptor.net/gaming/news/denuvo-anti-cheat-system-can-now-be-used-with-any-steam-game

"But there might be less cheating now!"

I hear you say.. At what cost, though? This thing is much akin to the nastiest viruses you can get as it hooks itself all the way onto your kernel drivers, as admitted by it's own developers:

https://i.imgur.com/y4sTszy.png

Some quick anatomy for you less computer cunning: Kernel = Basically your computer's spine. Think i'm exaggerating? Afraid not:

https://www.altchar.com/game-news/doom-eternals-denuvo-anti-cheat-is-being-detected-as-malware-a7gf98q4K91z

----------------------------------------

This thing stoked so much anger and backlash, the developers of Doom Eternal were forced to remove it after a single week.. And now less than half a year later following it's inception, Valve goes "Time to make this thing mainstream dawg!"

Why were people angry? Weeeell.. Turns out it completely wrecks your computer, ranging from BSOD's, raping your performance and failing to terminate itself:

----------------------------------------

If you play any sort of game with multiplayer on it (it turns itself on even if you only want to do single-player as well), you'd better be clenching those buttcheeks.

Valve found to be guilty breaking the law yet again

This time, it's due to their disgusting geo-blocking tactics:

https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/ip_21_170

And naturally as the other 5-10 times they've been found blatantly breaking consumer rights and anti-trust laws, they are screeching, throwing tantrums and refusing to cooperate like children:

Cyberpunk found to be broken enough to be removed from PSS

PSS = Play Station Store. They're also giving out unconditional refunds and it's a similar story at XBOX except the game has not yet been removed.

https://www.inverse.com/gaming/cyberpunk-2077-removed-playstation-store-psn-sony-refunds

The game has broken many records in 2020 such as worst running game, most broken popular release and flipping SLS' from recommending it to not in the span of a day, but this takes the golden trophy.

It's selling like hotcakes but Sony (a moneygrubbing corporation) still deemed it necessary to throw it out of the door which is just wow.

Cyberpunk 2077: Not looking great.

To make a TL;DR: There was some leaks and it's apparently plagued with crashes, bad performance, extreme amounts of bugs, scarce NPC populations, a small map and some quite frankly cartoon-looking physics:

Oh yeah, and enemies go up into the ceiling whenever they feel like it:

https://i.imgur.com/6WhR8e0.gif

In a normal world, me and other curators/reviewers would naturally be able to use early review copies to see if this is true or not, but we haven't gotten any.. I wonder why. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Apparently there are 30-50 GB patches being thrown around like candy but i can't think of a game that had a good outlook from needing such MASSIVE day-1 patch(es).

Have some real game footage:

-------------------------------

I've been recommending this game up until now and them delaying it again was a good sign for polishing purposes but it looks like it was actually an emergency stop-gap to not release a completely broken dumpsterfire of a game.

Reign in that hype and consider yourselves warned.

-------------------------------

EDIT: Unable to fully review the game as the performance for me and many others is quite literally unplayable, despite exceeding specs:

Thanks to being gifted games and the group receiving donations, i can actually give things their full proper reviews on Steam, including overpriced trash like this. :ok_ay:

A notorious, widely hated Chinese investment firm is now trying to get it's grubby asian hands on Warframe:

Clench those robot buttcheeks and pray while you still can.. That is if you're even remotely invested in the game.

Smite Censorshipping Their Forum

This is right after they decided it would be a genius move to inject politics into their game.. More specifically, getting involved with and supporting the terrorist organization known as black lives matter. The result is a massive community backlash that has their forum looking like a barcode:

https://i.imgur.com/AHup2JP.png

https://i.imgur.com/rqBgctP.png

This includes topics that even just MENTION them doing this as i made one myself that had people discussing about the matchmaking before getting locked without warning or reason. Absolutely disgusting.
