SEGA's "most expensive title ever" shooter that had a zero-gravity gimmick (Lawbreakers ripoff) and tons of aggressive anti-capitalism sentiments & politics in it just got scrapped and pulled off steam:

Their reasoning for this decision? "It was too ambitious."

It took them 6+ years to make a generic shooter with some no-gravity segments (Lawbreakers) and expanding foam weaponry from Prey 2017.

Good riddance.

Despite me not thinking this year could get worse for gaming, Unity unveiled their new monetization strategy that will come into effect January 1st whereas every single game installation after a certain point will now be "taxed":

The justification? "We want more money so that we can continue to invest in the engine", said with a straight face as said engine has not received a single update in over 8 months.

Of course, they also threw around marketing buzzwords to try and help things along such as "player engagement" and "balance the value exchange".

TL;DR: This means that there will be new draconic measures put in place to try and track every single itty bitty "game copy" while also causing major conflicts with other existing payment methods.

On the plus side if this balls-to-the-walls stupid thing is actually implemented, gamers will have new tools at their disposal to make their discontent against corporate retardation be known:

The very same company that has had a holy crusade against piracy and even modding have been exposed taking free cracked game files created by piracy groups and releasing them as paid goods on Steam:

Severe irony aside, the cracker in question received no word, royalties or rightful compensation for having their hard work stolen and resold.. Meaning, Rockstar are also thieves on top of everything else.

The Early Access version of the game people have been playing in order to test the game was YEARS out of date so when they released the actual up-to-date version, it came as no surprise to me it's an untested ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

They have introduced even more memory leaks while there's scarcely not a single bit of optimization that has been done anywhere, so be very careful with your system temperatures if you're going to play this game right now.

As predicted in the curation, the game runs like absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at even the strongest of hardware configurations with reports of 30-40 fps on 4090's. It also has Denuvo, tons of bugs, stuttering and audio issues but who is not expecting that these days:
