Barely 2 months into 2019 and it's already a big yikes on multiple fronts.

Deep Silver now officially ignoring community feedback enmasse

.. In the form of copy-pasta'ing propaganda and what their "policy" is and forcefully changing all topics discussing Denuvo by abusing forum mod powers, marking it as a thread "answer":

I certainly hope these hundreds of people vowing now not to buy the game because of Denuvo is worth these "initial saves".. Ignoring the fact that most publishers judge a game's success depending on the number of PRE-ORDERS. :)

Redshell Spyware Website is now.. Back up?

I don't even.. What the ♥♥♥♥? It's been down for 6+ months and now they flipped it back on following the astronomical backlash with zero changes made to the disguised "service" spyware?

Pretty sure they are pulling a literal "ducked under until the heat is gone" criminal tactic at this point.

Even more evidence that Denuvo rapes performance..

The Steam ♥♥♥♥ Awards

It's that awkward time of the year again.. But this time it is legitimately managing to be funny as most of these are in fact not 2018 games.

------------

Game of The Year:

PUBG
LMAO. On-top of being PUBG, it's not a 2018 game so it is disqualified.

Monster Hunter: World
Denuvo aside, this game is still a technological ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ trainwreck with that severely broken CPU utilization (amidst many other issues that a user mod mostly fixed but risks banning you) has not been addressed and to this day, you still can't co-op through the main story with your friends because hurr unskippable cutscenes.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Falsely advertised with "huge battles" in trailers multiple times. what do we get? Basically only 1v1 to 3v3's until the end where's there a 8v8 or so that made even the most powerful GPU's run the game at 10 FPS.. That and the game is a giant cliffhanger, the devs admitting themselves it's only 1/3 done.

Hitman 2
DRM on-top of always online, steals and re-sells user information basically making it a spyware while it's also literally just a Hitman 1 copy-pasta, effectively also disqualifying it.

Odyssey
Devs went out of their way to make the game-play as tedius as ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ possible with "higher level" enemies absolutely wrecking the ♥♥♥♥ out of you, incentivizing pay-2-win - IN A SINGLE PLAYER GAME - while Denuvo has been confirmed to be positively ass-raping the CPU performance across the board. Get the ♥♥♥♥ out.

--------------------------------------------------

VR GOTY:

Skyrim
Not a 2018 game.

VRChat
Not a 2018 game, and shouldn't really be considered a "game" to begin with as it's more a hub social thing.

Beat Saber
Not released yet.. So it's also not a 2018 game.

Fallout 4
Not a 2018 game.

Superhot
You guessed it. Not a 2018 game.

--------------------------------------------------

Labor of Love:

GTA V
Cheaters are STILL everywhere after years on end and Rockstar are STILL flamboyantly auto-banning people for playing the game by blowing up other people's cars, even when they're in the process of trying to kill you.. The more popular reason for people still playing this game appears to be the RP mods which says a lot about the base game & developers if the community are the ones that has to fix it.

No Man's Sk-
HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Path of Exile
Besides some rare glitches and occasional server outtages that ♥♥♥♥♥ people's hardcore characters and support refusing to help them, this game has done very well avoiding any pay-2-win ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and while it does have lé lootbox, it is free to play so there's that. Probably the only thing deserving a nomination in this year's clown nose honking event.

Dota 2
Still has the worst community, only toppled by League of Legends. Now riddled with so many skins and different items, you'll have absolutely no idea as a new player to learn just who the ♥♥♥♥ is playing what hero with it also having unremovable in-game advertisements for the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ tournaments and Arti "Credit Card" Fact. Icefrog also continues being a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ moron, not being able to balance a single thing about this game 5 years after release.

Stardew Valley
Another decent game that encourages a relaxing play-style and unfortunately, that ends up being more or less completely ruined by other game-play mechanics such as a limited time per day clock (and a stamina meter) that BTFO's you if you stay up for too long instead of having it be a transition to the next day and having all the actual farming turn into a complete capitalism simulator in no time as you need gold to do absolutely everything.. And oh boy are there huge imbalanced gold discrepencies on planting stuff with no incentive whatsoever to buying seeds other than the ones that make the most money. It took 2.5 years but multiplayer came eventually, so that's neat.

--------------------------------------------------

Best Developer:

These are almost all massive ♥♥♥♥-bags that's mostly already been described by the games above (with CD Projekt Red also casually abusing the ♥♥♥♥ out of their employees) but if i had to choose it'd probably be Kiel seeing how Digital Extreme is still selling power in form of Prime ♥♥♥♥.. That they originally said would be aesthetic only, for those that remember.

------------

2018 has been an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for the gaming industry. I'd even go as far as to say that with all the lootboxes, predatory practices, FPS killing DRM's like Denuvo becoming more used, the Steam spyware Redshell, Valve losing their grip on reality, Valeroa.. It's been worse than the video game crash of 83.

The obscure game of City Patrol: Police lasted a whole 3 days before having it's DRM get smashed wide-open.

I certainly hope Caipirinha Games and their publishers Toplitz Productions thought this tiny time-window was worth sacrificing all future fan good-will, trust and loyalty by announcing themselves as fundamental anti-consumers.

Watch out buying Artifact - Refunds NOT allowed

In the spirit of modern Valve, they have gone out of their way to disable your ability to refund the game once you get past the tutorial as by doing so, you'll get a card pack.. Which counts as an in-game purchase.

MFW.

DO NOT TURN OFF &/ UPDATE STEAM

They have since the update a few hours ago turned off people's ability to use the old, STABLE steamUI that does not run like absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, hog up resources for no reason and crash constantly by using the:

-nochatui -nofriendsui

Commands on a shortcut.
